BRIEF CURRICULUM VITAE OF JOAQUIN MARTIN ROJAS HERNANDEZ
1949.-Was born in the small town of San Martín Texmelucan, Puebla., Mexico. His parents: Otilio Rojas Galán (from Puebla),
and Pascuala Hernández Díaz (from Tlaxcala), MEXICO..
1965.- 1967.- 1969.- Personal Exhibitions, on ocassion of the regional Fair of San Martín
Texmelucan, Puebla., MEXICO.
1970.-Participates in the art event Confrontación National Pictórica "PUEBLA 70" in the city of Puebla, MEXICO.
1971.-Becomes a member of the Tlaxcalteca Society of Visual Arts, participating in different group exhibitions in the State
of Tlaxcala, MEXICO.
1972.-Participates in the National Exposition of Visual Arts "Year of Juárez" in Guadalajara, Jalisco. And "Three
Painters Tlaxcaltecas", "Homage to Juárez", "White and Black", etc..in Tlaxcala, MEXICO.
1975.-Participates in the National Exhibitions of Art "IMECAFE" in the states of Jalisco,
San Luis Potosí, Veracruz, Queretaro and Hidalgo. And Art Sacra in the Convent of
Our Lady of Ocotlán, in the state of Tlaxcala, MEXICO.
1976.-"CONTRASTES" solo show, in the House of Culture of Tlaxcala, and other group
exhibitions in MEXICO.
1978.-"FERIA DEL HOGAR" solo show, in the Palace of Sports Mexico city., MEXICO.
1979.-Is granted by The National Institute of Fine Arts and the Government of the State of
Tlaxcala to study art in HOLLAND.
1981.-Solo show "AMBIVALENCIAS" in the Office of the secretary of tourism of Tlaxcala, MEXICO.
Departs to Europe to study art in the Accademia of Fine Arts "Pietro Vannucci" and in the
Universitá Italiana per Stranieri from Perugia, at the same time he participates in the
Latin-American Week of Art in Perugia, and in the Internazional Art Competition of Watercolor through the Fondazione
Sinaide Ghi, in Rome, ITALY.
1984.-Associate Founder of the Group of Art "T", from Tlaxcala. As President of
the group, they carry out "Two Cultural Weeks" in collaboration with United Artists from Puebla
Becomes an active member of SOMART, Mexican Society of Plastic Arts, MEXICO.
1985.-Participates in the "First National Encounter of Visual Artists", in the city of Pachuca, Hidalgo with the
paper "Cultural Policies in the States", MEXICO.
1986.-Participates in the "First Copyrights Symposium", in the Palace of Fine Arts,
organized by SOMART, in Mexico city. MEXICO.
In the "Second Bienale of Art on Paper" in Buenos Aires, ARGENTINA.
In the "Second Bienale "Homage to Diego Rivera", in Guanajuato. MEXICO.
1987.-Paints the mural "MY HOMAGE TO MEXICAN MURALISM", section of the mural "Brief space between art and time", in the
College of High School graduates (actually Palace of Culture), in the city of Tlaxcala. MEXICO.
1988.-Personal Exhibition "REALITY AND ASPIRATIONS in the Pinacoteca of the State of Tlaxcala, MEXICO.
"PEINTURE CONTEMPORAINE DE MEXIQUE" individual exhibition, in the Avry Art Center Gallery, Fribourg, SWITZERLAND.
